Many signaling pathways have been implicated in the retinal pigment EMT. either of canonical or non-canonical TGFβ signaling pathways are involved in the EMT of retinal pigment epithelium. Many additional signaling pathways, such as BMP signaling, RTK signaling, Wnt signaling, and jagged-Notch signaling, are implicated in the EMT process in retinal pigment epithelium.
