Beni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences is the official journal of Beni-Suef University.
The University was established in 2005. Before this date, it was a branch of Cairo University. It includes 32 faculties and institutes such as Medicine, Engineering, Science, and others. Beni-Suef University seeks to advance a permanent development in its educational process, promote the quality of performance, and obtain an outstanding position among local, regional and international universities.

Aims and scope
Beni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences (BJBAS) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that welcomes submissions of original research, literature reviews, and editorials in its respected fields of basic science; applied science (with a special focus on the fields of applied nanotechnology and biotechnology); medical sciences; pharmaceutical sciences and engineering. The multidisciplinary aspects of the journal encourage global collaboration between researchers in multiple fields and provide cross-disciplinary dissemination of findings.

Editor-in-Chief, Professor Osama M. Ahmed, PhD, Beni-Suef University, Egypt
Osama M. Ahmed is a professor of physiology at the Faculty of Science, Beni-Suef University, Egypt. He was granted PhD in Physiology from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt in the year 2000. He holds 135 publications (in Scopus) in the fields of his expertise in international journals. He has published 13 book chapters. He has H-Index 29 and citation 3058 (in Scopus). He has participated as a principal investigator and co-investigator in many research projects. He was awarded the State Incentive Prize (2014), the Beni-Suef University Excellence Prize (2014), and the First Class Medal of Excellence in Egypt (2017). He was included in the top 2% of most cited scientists worldwide by the Stanford University Global Scientist Citations Ranking (2021 & 2022).
