From: The effect of cigarette and e-cigarette smoke on dental pulp stem cells proliferation capacity and differentiation [in vitro study]

Fig. 3

A DPSCs treated with TE-p and e-Cig-Lv smoke extracts showed few scattered colonies with osteogenic induction at 14 and 21 days; the smoke extracts have a bimodal effect on the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of DPSCs in contrast to dense colonies of cells observed in untreated control DPSCs cultured in DMEM. The magnification [10X] (Scale bar = 50 μm). B Bar chart showed a mild significant difference between the ALP activity of TE-p, e-Cig-LV, and control DPSCs after 14 days of exposure (p = 0.002). Data were presented as mean and SD *: significant difference compared to control DPSCs. C Bar chart showed a mild significant difference between the ALP activity of TE-p, e-Cig-LV, and DPSCs after 21 days of exposure (p = 0.007). Data were presented as mean and SD *: significant difference compared to control DPSCs, #: significant difference compared to DPSCs exposed to TE-p extract
